Spins , Arches & Niches

Segmental Coffered Canopy manufactured and installed by Capital Plaster Mouldings, Cork for St. Mary's Church, Mallow
Not only do Arches add strength and structure to a doorway or an opening, they are also beautiful features in their own right. Arches were a favourite of classical Roman Architecture. Arches are often decorated by spins – decorative edging that follows the circumference of the arch, and by corbels – decorative brackets that cap the arches. At Capital Plaster Mouldings, Cork all of our arches are made to measure by our expert craftsmen.
Niches are recessed hollows, usually placed in a wall with the purpose of displaying statues, vases or other aesthetic treasures. They may also be empty and used to provide articulation to the wall. A niche may be circular or square and is often capped by a semi-circular dome. At Capital Plaster Mouldings all of our niches are custom made according to your own specific requirements.
